St Joseph’s
World Book Day
Friday 2nd March 2018
On Friday 2nd March , St Joseph’s World Book Day, the children
are encouraged to DRESS UP as their
favourite book character. There will be a COMPETITION for the best
costumes with prizes of book vouchers to be used at our Book Fair.
To
celebrate World Book Day we have
invited one of our local bookshops, Pickled Pepper Books, to organise a Book
Fair. With lots of exciting new children’s books to browse and buy there’s sure
to be a book for everyone.
When: Wednesday 28th
February – Friday 2nd March 2018
Times: 8:40 – 9:00am and 3:00
– 3:45pm
Where: The School Library
If you are
unable to attend the Book Fair your child can select their own book(s) during
the school day. Please provide the money in an envelope clearly marked with
their name and class and give it to your child or the school office.
Every
child will also receive a World Book Day £1 Book Token which can be exchanged at the Book Fair for one of
the TEN new and exclusive World Book Day books.
Don’t
forget that every book you buy can help towards FREE BOOKS for our
school library!
We will
also be joining the nationwide event to enjoy the pleasures of reading and SHARE A STORY on World Book Day, giving
out stickers to all the children who participate. Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can
make a crucial difference to their outcome and its fun for all involved. You
can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime! Please join-in!
