And

Book Fair

St Joseph’s World Book Day 2020 will take place on Thursday 5th March.  The children are encouraged to DRESS UP as their favorite book character. There will be a COMPETITION for the best costumes with prizes of book vouchers to be used at our Book Fair.

To celebrate World Book Day, we will be hosting a Book Fair, with hundreds of new children’s books to browse and buy. With prices starting from only £2.99, there’s sure to be a book for everyone.

When: Thursday 27th February – Thursday 5th March

Times: 8:40 – 9:00 am and 3:00 – 3:45 pm

Where: New Conference Room

If you are unable to attend the Book Fair, books can be purchased in the following ways:

  1. You can browse books online with your child at bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/parents.

  1. Your child can select their own book(s) on the day of their class visit to the Book Fair during the school day. Your child’s teacher will be able to inform you of the day of the class visit.

To make a purchase send the money or the discounted Gift Vouchers purchased online into the school using an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name, class and title(s) of book(s) if appropriate and give to your child, teacher or the school office.

Every child will also receive a mini catalogue and a World Book Day £1 Book Token on Wednesday 26th February which can be used at the Book Fair. Please check your child’s school bag.

We will also be joining the nationwide event, SHARE A STORY, on World Book Day which promotes the pleasures of reading. We will be giving out stickers to all the children who participate. Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their outcomes and it’s fun for all involved. You can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime! Please join-in!

Don’t forget that every book you buy can help towards FREE BOOKS for our school library. The last Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success for St Joseph’s making nearly £1500 in FREE BOOKS.

Thank you for your continued support and happy WORLD BOOK DAY!
