St Joseph’s World Book Day and
Book Fair
Thursday 2nd March 2023
St Joseph’s World Book Day 2023 will take place on Thursday 2nd March.
We have given each child a wooden spoon to decorate as their favourite book character. On the 2nd of March we would like the children to come into school wearing their favourite pyjamas, onesies or comfy clothes (to represent the idea of cosying up with a book!) with their decorated spoons and if possible a copy of the book the character is from. The plan is to share books across the school in a variety of ways.
We would also like the children to bring in a photo of them reading – this can be in their normal reading place such as in a comfy chair or in an unusual place such as in the park.
In light of the tragic earthquake that has recently devastated Turkey and Syria we would like each child to contribute a £1. The money collected will be donated to DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee).
To celebrate World Book Day, we will also be hosting a Book Fair, with hundreds of new children’s
books to browse and buy. With prices starting from only £2.99, there’s
sure to be a book for everyone.

This year's theme is Let's Connect
Let's Connect is about making meaningful connections for all, during Children's Mental Health Week, and beyond. People thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing.
As part of the GET ISLINGTON READING initiative sets of wellbeing books have been given to our library for the children to borrow.
