for the

LIBRARY

Among the new books are the delightful  Kes Gray 'Oi' series

and the adaptation of 'Wonder' by R.J.Palacio for Early Years which inspires kindness and acceptance in everyone who reads it.

We also have some new additions for our Poetry shelf:

'Moon Juice', poems by Kate Wakeling. They are clever, funny and inspiring. A worthy winner of the CLiPPA 2017 Poetry Award. Perfect for children aged 8+
'Werewolf Club Rules', poems by Joseph Coelho. This book won the  CLiPPA 2015 award. Get ready to howl with laughter as you discover the rules of the Werewolf Club.
'The Language of Cat' poems by Rachel Rooney, the 2012 CLiPPA winner. Poems full of wordplay and riddles that make you laugh and think.

It is thanks to the funds we raise with our Book Fairs that we are continually able to add exciting new books to our library.

Thank you again to everyone who supports our Book Fairs.

Our next Book Fair will be in NOVEMBER 2018.

Library Sessions

LIBRARY SESSIONS

Each class has a weekly session in the library and every child has an opportunity to take a book on loan. Please could you make sure that your child returns their library book each week on their library day so that they can either renew it or take another book.

If the book is lost please provide a fee of £5 so that it can be replaced. This should be given to the school office in an envelope clearly marked for the attention of the Library with your child's name and class.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss this matter.

Library Monitors

Library Monitors

Children are encouraged to participate in the running of the library. Each class selects library monitors to help the Librarian during their class session in the library. They organise the books, help other children choose book and generally make sure the library remains a quiet and relaxed place.

This week children from Year 2 took part in the running of the library. They all got a chance to use the library scanner to issue their own books!

Fun learning!

Summer Term

Summer has come to the library!

We can look forward to lots of days reading outside on the grass or on our benches under our sun umbrellas.
Children from Years 2 and 3 were able to enjoy their library session outside this week. The sun came out and warmed us up whilst we listened to stories or read our own library books.

Happy Summer Reading!
